Upgrade install windows 7 with SP1

I have tried to repair upgrade windows 7 with SP1 using an ISO which I got from Digital River.

At the compatability checking stage I get an error message:

The Following issues are preventing Windows from upgrading:
An error prevents a required compliance from completing. Cancel installation and try upgrading again.

I cannot uninstall SP1 as I have used Disc cleaner since.

I have done a scan and there were some files which could not be repaired but I don't understand the log file.

    Any help appreciated, thanks

Suggest you create a new installation disc using the slowest burn speed you can. It's possible the first disc you made got corrupted or damaged during the burn. Once you have the new disc, go through this tutorial and make sure all steps are followed. Pay particular attention to the warnings and tips. (A Repair Install is also known as an in-place upgrade install.)

    Thanks for reply.

I burned another disc at 4x speed but when I tried to use it an error message said a dll file was missing or corrupt.

I downloaded the IS file again and burned it ok but when I tried to upgrade I got the same incompatability issue

Are you using the ISO link from Digital River (in the Repair Install tutorial)? This is the official Microsoft site for downloads. Any other download site is suspect. Also, are you downloading the correct version for your Windows 7 including the correct 32 or 64 bit version?

Yes I'm using the ISO from Digital River X17 58996 for 32 bit Windows 7

If it is telling you your current version is more recent... ?

Rt click the dvd, rt click setup.exe and run it in compatibilty mode.

Click Properties> compatibility tab, select Vista sp1 or vista sp2,tick run as administrator Apply ,ok.

If you've tried all of the other Troubleshooting Steps for Windows 7 and Repair Install won't work with a known-good (in another PC) installer then it would be easiest to take the time to get a perfect Clean Reinstall - Factory OEM Windows 7 since once it's setup and running perfectly you can save a backup image so you never have to do it again.
