    bootmgr is missing press ctrl/alt/del to restart help please


    hi guys got a new prob with this dam pc now lol (toshiba satellite c650)

    trying to install windows 7 I start the pc up and all i,m getting is bootmgr is missing press ctrl/alt/del to restart

    i have tried using a windows 7 system repair disk and tried it on usb it gets as far as loading the 1st min of loading windows 7 and stops with a black screen but the mouse cusor is showing and it moves about but thats as far as i can get

    even tried loading an xp OS disk but that when so far then blue screened

    any ideas what i can try please?? or do you think the hard drive is fu*ked??

    hi have your tried the windows windows 7 installation disc? you have said a repair disc and a xp OS disc xp OS disc wont help at all.

    what exactly did you do with it jsut to go over did you follow every one of these steps ?

    I put the disks in and also tried a pen drive and it starts to load but stops before it gets to "The next screen you see should have the Language, Time and Currency and Keyboard boxes"

    both disks and pen drive was started from bootup menu

    Hi i hope these are official releases and i am going by the pendrive version is of the disc?

    As for the guess on BOOTMGR missing is that because setup is corrupted as you say. Another reason for the hanging at installation could be a problem with your setup disc but after looking again you said the same with XP setup correct? then i would partially go by the bad sectors on the hdd tbh. You could try reformat the hdd on setup again but make sure you do a full format failing that do you have another pc?

    thats why i put xp in it to try and format it but it wont load as for as the format part, it then blue screens when loading xp

    when it blue screen does an error code appear at all that may be more helpful tbh. You see on recovery disk i could give you some commands to punch in if you could bring up CMD prompt on recovery but you said you cannot either. If you can find a way to show me what the blue screen error code is would be helpful.
