f8 advanced boot options freezes

Hi everyone , I am a new member of this forum and this is my 1st post so please bear with me on this one

i bought new desktop computer with windows 7 professional sp1 64bit
HP elite 8200 sff - i5- 2400 ghz
4 gb ram
500 hdd
intel hd graphic

everything works oky except ( f8 advanced boot options ) Sometimes does not respond to orders and sometimes oky , i mean when i press f8 to invoke the advanced Boot Options menu ... i couldnot Use the up and down arrows to navigate menu choices , because its freezes
i have old computer pentium 4 with win7 ultimte 32bit and never had this problem before
so its not a keyboord issue because i tried the keyboard with my old computer and f8 works perfect with no freezes
i changed the hard drive and put new one and installed windows 7 ultimate 32bit
but still have the same problem
I tried everything ,, deleting , formatting partition , and still have the same problem
but i did not touch the recovery partition

its very strange things and to be clear ... i activated the old computer with crack and the computer works perfect .. never had any problem , i have problem with the new computer which already is activated with the licensed version which came with pc . i had installed windows 7 ultimate 32bit on my new computer just for testing but still have the same problem , i changed the hdd to a new one and still have the same problem
so ... do you think that the new hdd has boot sector of code which might be interfering or bad sectors
i will try your solutions and see
i paid for this stuiped pc 850 euros , if i could not fix this problem i will sell him to half price ..just to Relieve a bit of thinking about this problem

Forget about the crack. You've paid a lot of money to be legal now.

Let us help you get a perfect Clean Reinstall - Factory OEM Windows 7 which is a much better install than with HP's preinstalled bloatware and useless factory utilities.

Make your Recovery disks if you want a path back to factory condition, then wipe the HD as given earlier.

Work through the steps paying close attention to how drivers are handled in Win7 and the tools/methods we recommend to get and keep and perfect install.

im very sorry for late reply
i was busy with my relative , he has a surgery done

i tried all your methods on my spare HDD , but i did big mistake
i used my recovery instead of clean reinstall , anyway .. nothing helps
i tried ,, tried and tried but finally i determined the cause of the problem ... its a mouse issue .... i use trust mouse
i pulled out the mouse ... restart pc ... tried f8 advaced boot options ... worked perfect .. no more freezes
i tried other hp mouse ... but unfortunately the problem back again

now i dont know how to fix this issue ( i mean mouse issue ) because i tried difference usb plug ... but nothing helps

all drivers installed , i restore the bios to factory settings ,, maybe i have to upgrade the bios or change the bios settings !!!

Boot into BIOS setup to see if you can find a USB legacy setting, or any other USB setting to try. That may be all it takes. If not then you don't really need the mouse to navigate there or in F8 menu which is why it is set up to use the up and down keys.

i know that i dont need the mouse to navigate in F8 menu , i just use the up and down keys, when i use the up and down keys the pc freezes

i found into bios many things and maybe these settings are important :
usb security ... front usb ports .. enabled / rear usb ports ... enabled / accessory usb ports .. enabled
power options ( post mode .. quickboot / POST message ... disabled )
master boot record security ... disabled
virtualization technology(vtx) .. disabled
virtualization technology directed I/0 (VTD) ... disabled
reset embedded security device through os ... disabled
Boot order :
EFI boot sources :
usb floppy/cd
usb hard drive
atapi cd/dvd drive
Legacy boot sources :
atapi cd/dvd drive
hard drive
and other things

i disabled the EFI boot sources and enabled the Legacy boot sources ... but still the same problem

AMT configuration :
os wachtDog (5)
bios wachtDOG (5)

No bother, Danny. If you're sure its the mouse, then replace it or borrow one to try it and see.

Since you have an EFI BIOS you'd best read up on it for future reference:

You may even decide to reintall in EFI mode to have a graphical BIOS with full mouse support, which you'll read is one of the benefits.

100% its the mouse issue
from bios i disabled the mouse ports ... the problem solved
after i enabled the mouse ports ... the problem back
i tested 2 mouses ... still the same problem
i remembered that i have old mouse ( microsoft standard wireless optical mouse)
i tested him ... everything works perfect .. no more freezes
so i dont know why the others mouses didnot work with my pc
Remark ... the other mouses work very well with my old computer without any problem

i just want to know if its a software problem or hardware ?

Is it USB mice vs. PS2 mouse that's working?

If it's USB that's failing then it could be the specific driver or the USB controller driver. Have you checked optional Windows Updates for newer drivers? Is there a newer USB Controller driver available.

I'd also check if there is a newer BIOS update available. There is mouse support for EFI BIOS when that feature is enabled so it could also be a setting in BIOS.
