missing Microsoft Office Starter 2010 from the installation disk

I bought a Samsung RF711 with Windows 7 and Microsoft Office Starter 2010 in June 2012. I had to reinstall the system from the DVD. While Windows 7 is up and running, there seems to be no installation files for Microsoft Office Starter 2010.

The Samsung support website for this computer does not offer an Office download.

What is the right way to proceed in order to get Office on this machine again?

Broiyan, When you said that you re-installed windows from the DVD, was this the sya dvd's that you first made when you got your machine? Or was it just a windows 7 dvd?

Most OEM's can provide a ms office 2010 starter dvd if you ask them.

Which DVD did you use to reinsall the Windows 7? If it was a Microsoft installation disc Office Starter wouldn't be included. I believe the only way to reinstall Office Starter would be either by using the manufacturer's recovery discs or a hidden recovery partition on the hard drive. Both of these methods would return your computer to factory specs. At least this is how it was for a Dell and Sony I have.

Samsung's customer support may be able to furnish you with recovery discs but I don't know if they would return your machine to original factory specs.

EDIT: Rich beat me again. He's got faster fingers!

To be clearer, I used the one and only DVD that was supplied with a new Samsung laptop. It is "Samsung Recovery Media" and installing it results in a Windows 7 system and no Office Starter 2010. Browsing the Samsung Recovery Media shows nothing that is obviously an Office installation program. This is a little surprising.

I wonder where I'm supposed to get the Office Starter 2010 activation code because that's going to be the next problem if I can get the maker, Samsung, to give me Office Starter installation media.

If you don't have any luck with the Office starter, you can download the free Open Office suite of programs that are comparable and compatible to MS Office. www.openoffice.org

No other programs are ever included with an OS reinstall DVD, of any type/kind. All that is on any of them is the OS and maybe the driver package for that brand of computers and only if the DVD was specifically marked as from that manufacturer.

There was a Utility on the disk for making discs of the added software programs. If you never used that utility to make those discs then that/those program/programs is/are gone. The only saving grace is if the system also came with a COA for Office starter and if it did that would be a separate sticker and or piece of paper that got shipped with the system. so check through the box and whatever documentation came with the system for it.

Is Samsung Recovery still onboard the HD and able to be triggered by by tapping it's F4 hotkey at boot? How To Perform A Complete Restore Using Samsung Recovery Solution 5 my samsung. This restores the PC to factory condition rather just reinstalling the OS.

MS has discontinued Office Starter because in the new Office the freeware version is moved to the web: Office Web Apps - Office.com

Another option is the perfectly compatible Open Office by Sun Java.
