    Element not found.

I have been trying to install mac os x on my windows 7 pc for a while now with no success. I created the recovery disks and backed up all my data incase something bad happened.

Neway the problem happened when I was in the mac install window and was formatting my partition to journaled. I tried to proceed with the mac installation but it said mac cannot be installed on this computer.....restart or restore.

This message had appeared in the past but I restarted and changed the bios settings back to optimised defaults and ran the recovery disk and everything was ok.

However this time I restarted and the recovery disk couldn't find an os to boot from so I restarted several times and still no joy.

I thought It may be something to do with marking my partition as active so I ran the command prompt and ran disk part where I marked the partition as inactive and deleted it.

After hours of googling for a solution and trying all the bootrec commands I just keep getting the same error message Element not found.

Is there anything I can do to recover windows? What could be the problem? After all I didn't get far with trying to install mac and my primary portion wasn't altered in the formatting.

I hope someone can help me with this then maybe point me in the right direction for installing mac.

    Thank you in advance

Work through all of the boot repair commands in Troubleshooting Windows 7 Failure to Boot so you know you've done everything, leading up to if necessary running Factory Recovery or Clean Reinstall.

solved it when messing about in diskpart i deactivated the bootloader
    ran diskpart
    list disk
    select disk n
list partition select partition n (small one around 100mb)
    activate
    exit
    restarted and done!
