    No but that isn't even the problem. I just want to run the laptop.recovery and set it back to the way it came. I simply.cannot boot the recovery Partition. I am going to try deleting the c partition and seeing if that will allow it to "see" the recovery partition as bootable

    Deleting C won't make Recovery any more bootable. If you tried the hotkey to boot it (which link was likely wiped out when you clean installed) and cannot find boot.wim or winre.wim to add to a Boot Menu with EasyBCD, then your options remain to order Recovery Disks from Asus Tech Support, or do the superior Clean Reinstall - Factory OEM Windows 7.

    Can you tell us more about this newegg 3-pack Ultimate purchase you made, perhaps a link?

    The three pack was a "system builders" OEM bundle. Just came with one DVD but three keys. I bought it a while ago.

    Also, I am not even trying to install the ultimate at all anymore. Maybe if it had been a little more painless!

    If you can't find the correct .wim file to add to Dual Boot menu to boot Recovery, try marking it Active, reboot to see if it will run now.

    If not your options are to order Recovery Disks from your PC's Tech Support, or download and burn to DVD the ISO for the OS which is licensed for that PC and which appears on the COA sticker attached to it.

    So I ended up doing the clean install of windows. I originally used the Microsoft USB tool But it could not install to gpt drives. So i formatted the usb drive as fat32 with windows on it and booted it via uefi. It installed fine no issues. I used drivers from.the recovery partition and no bsods. Activated windows and am home free. Though i would still like to make the recovery boot for future use

i have an asus 1025CE netbook. For whatever reason, i don't have the recovery partition on it. I do however have the recovery backup that i made when i first got it. It is stored on a USB external desktop hard drive 2.0. (toshiba 1TB). When i boot up from it, i get to the asus recovery...
Product Name and Operating system: DV6 21124el (windows 7 ultimate 32bit) Hi, I have this laptop for the last 3 years and never used the recovery option as I didn't need to, the recovery partition is there never been formated, now my windows is too slow and wanted to restore it to factory...
.... but I didn't touch it. My d:\ is not empty - it is almost 80% full but when i click on it there are no files. Tried - to the extent of my knowledge - to see if the files are hidden but didn't reach anywhere. Tried a restore point but that didnt work either. Please help
