Reinstalled windows 7 on samsung laptop. Lots of things not working.

I reinstalled windows 7 64 bit on my Samsung R580 and now a lot of things aren't working. It used to have windows 7 home premium 32 bit on it from the factory. The wifi isn't connecting, the ethernet port doesn't work/ isn't connecting to internet, the hdmi output doesn't work. I used to be able to change the brightness/volume using the FN key and the arrow keys and now that doesn't work. The taskbar used to be see through and now its a solid color and I can't get it to be see through again. I think that's because something with the chipset is wrong or the driver. There used to be a power setting called Samsung optimized and now that's not there either. I don't have any of the backup file/ disks either. I appreciate if anyone could help me out...I really messed this up.

Everything you need to know is here to get a perfect Clean Reinstall - Factory OEM Windows 7?

Unfortunately Samsung is one of the hardest to get everything working correctly after the reinstall, however if it can be done then we will help you finish it.

First go to the Samsung Support Downloads webpage for your exact model to download to a flash stick or CD the network LAN driver, install it to get online.

Once online immediately install all of your Important and Optional Windows Updates after enabling Automatically get recommended drivers and updates for your hardware . These will include more drivers and important performance updates.

Once all Updates are done, look in your Device Manager for which drivers are missing and import them from the same Samsung SUpport Downloads webpage for your model. s

Now watch closely to see what isn't working correctly and look for a software package on the same Downloads page for FN Function key software which often includes both the functions and the lighting, any hotfixes which solve an issue you may be experiencing.

Those problems which you have problems with should be posted back here so we can help you resolve them. Often you can ask google and will get an even faster answer since almost any problem which has already been solved can normally be found by google if you deftly ask the question.

Simply put you need all the specific drivers from the maker for that model notebook. They can be found on their website.

I would not reinstall drivers from the Samsung website which are provided by Win7 installer or Updates as it defeats the purpose of a Clean Reinstall to reimport the factory crap unless it is absolutely necessary for functions like keyboard backlighting, function keys, webcam features, etc.

But these can be further determined after you've run all Important and Optional Windows Updates, then only imported the drivers still missing in Device Manager.

I downloaded the LAN driver from the Samsung website and now I have internet access on the laptop. Now I'm downloading the windows updates. There are 127 updates so this might take a while. I will post back after these updates are finished.

There may also be several rounds of Updates over several days, so keep checking.

Afterwards post back which drivers remain missing in Device Manager or which functions are missing.

Okay all the windows updates finished and the laptop is up to date. The WiFi/Ethernet is working properly. The hdmi output is not working. The FN keyboard shortcuts aren't working. I think the chipset isn't working properly because I did the windows experience index and got a rating of 1. The graphics/ gaming graphics both got a 1 but they were definitely higher before I reinstalled. Not sure what they were though.

I downloaded some more drivers and now everything seems to be in working order except the Fn keyboard short cuts and I don't see a driver for that on the Samsung website. Any ideas?
