After Windows recovery bootup can't find Windows 7

I used to have Windows 7 installed on a HDD and then bought a SSD and put Windows 7 on it.

Today after the power went out I rebooted and on bootup it asked to run Windows Recover which I stupidly said yes to. It then created a 2nd System Resevered partition and then on bootup asked which windows to launch - old HDD one or the SSD one.

I thought that deleting the system reserved for the inactive HDD one would solve the problem but now on boot up it can't find anything to boot unless I force the SSD as the bootup device.

Any ideas how to fix this? I tried running repair from the Windows 7 DvD but it only finds the HDD one.

Check your boot order in BIOs.

Also when you installed windows to your SSD did windows have the drivers for the device?

The correct way to install Win7 is to unplug other HD's. This isn't like collecting old newspapers in the garage where you just keep junk around and hope it doesn't burn down.

Unplug the old HD, Mark Win7 or it's 100mb System Reserved (preferred) Partition Active
then run Startup Repair - Run 3 Separate Times
until Win7 starts and holds the System Active flags which are apparently on the old HD.

You can then plug in the old HD to move its data off and wipe it with Diskpart Clean Command then repartition it in Disk Mgmt.
