    Acer Aspire D250 rebiuld - win7


    I have been round the forums trying to get help rebuilding my D250. I have built new partitions on it but keep getting the same message not matter what I try:

    Setup was unable to create a new system partition or locate an existing partition.

    I have made sure ACHI is set in bios but just cannot install win7. I have used different media (usb and cdrom) and different versions of win7 but I keep getting the same message. I can install winxp on this machine (changing the bios from achi to ide) and also Linux, but it came out of the box with win7 and I would like to put it back. Any help appreciated - I'm not seeing the wood for the trees now!

    Enter BIOS seutp to reset BIOS to defaults, set SATA to AHCI to try install first then IDE if necessary, wipe the HD with Diskpart Clean Command and try install with all other HD's and peripherals unplugged.

    Use the installer ISO from Step 1 burned to DVD or written to flash stick with tool in Step 2 of Clean Reinstall - Factory OEM Windows 7
