using second hdd for class assignment....

Is it possible for me to use my OEM copy of windows on my second hdd for a day to install my copy of windows for a class assignment?? I dont want to have to uninstall my copy of windows on this system I built for class to reinstall it in front of the instructor, I spent hours tweaking it. So i was wondering if I could just take my win 7 disk and my second hdd to class, install windows on that for the class and then uninstall it when I get done with the class?? Please help, it would be greatly appreciated.

I'm not sure if your plan would work. You have an OEM disk and they activate a bit differently than a retail disk. Maybe activation can be ignored temporarily as with a retail disk.

But you can certainly download an ISO of Win 7 from mydigitallife.info, burn it to a disc, install from it, and run it for 30 days without activation.

Oh ok. Thanks for the reply. So to make sure I understand correctly. For my intent of just going through the steps of installing windows and setting it up on a 'new' build in class, I can download and iso and burn it to a disc and then install it, and just uninstall it later???( since I wont need it I already have windows installed on my system, just going through it for class and I dont want to uninstall and reinstall..

Yes. I would unplug or disable in BIOS the other HD though. Otherwise it will configure a Dual Boot menu with the new install.

However if you're not able to do this the new install will be able to be deleted in Disk Mgmt and it won't require repairs to remove since the new install will only update boot files on the old one.

Simplest thing to do is create an Image of your present install, saving it to an external drive, then wipe the current drive and reinstall the OS. Then when you are done with the class assignment Re-Load that saved image to bring the system back to like it was before you started.
