    Dual booting with windows 7 & xp

    My PC is installed with Windows 7 at Drive - C. Today due to necessity I installed XP in Drive - D. After successful installation, I went for restart the system. But after booting, at the firsthand XP is opening. Now there is no scope for me to choose between Windows 7 & XP. How to overcome this ?

    Is this dual boot setup on one single drive or on two different hard drives? Is the XP install activated as the primary drive? Can you post a screen shot of your disk management window?

    Try visiting the following link for some help;

    (yes, I know it says Vista, but it will work with Windows 7)

    Scroll down to the section;
    Dual boot WinXP with Vista pre-installed

    Windows 7 & XP are on one single hard disk, i.e. in C and D respectively. However, as desired the screen shot of disk management is attached herwith.

    Dual Boot Installation with Windows 7 and XP

    In this tutorial scroll down to Option 2 and then start with step 7. It will show you how to use a program called EasyBCD to add a boot entry to your XP bootloader so that you can set up a dual boot option screen on startup. Since your XP disk is the boot disk in your system, you will need to install EasyBCD there.

    Yes, it is done by installing EasyBCD. However, after booting when the page came for choice, there are three choices, viz. Windows 7 and Windows XP twice. Please go through the attached picture. How to solve it?

    Yes, it is done by installing EasyBCD. However, after booting when the page for choice appeared, now there are three choices, viz. Windows 7 & Windows XP twice, all are opening properly. However, I had installed Windows XP once only. A picture of the page is attached herewith. How to resolve it?

    I am guessing I'm too late, but the easiest way is to virtualize XP, rather than dual-boot.

    Yes, I have been advised so elsewhere by my other friends. But in that case I should like to delete XP. By opening Windows 7, should I simply format the drive where XP is stored? Any guidance?
