Updating to Windows 8 on a HP laptop

I own a HP Pavilion DV6 Laptop and was wondering if I update to Windows 8, will I still have all the HP tools and drivers. For example there's a button on the keyboard that brings up a menu to access HP programs, As well as it having AMD switchable graphics.

Thanks, Aidan.

You should first check with HP and see if they have an "update" option available for that laptop. The advantage of using their update version is that it will come with the right drivers. It's also likely to be less expensive than going out and purchasing a retail copy. And finally, if they (as they did with laptops that were NOT upgradeable to Windows 7) indicate that yours is NOT a candidate for upgrade -- I would think seriously about NOT upgrading it -- as that generally means that one or more devices will not work well after the upgrade.

You should install it on another partition. DO NOT install it over Windows 7. You will be sorry. Windows 8 is not worth the effort. Windows 7 is fine.
