All commands successful? Problem solved?Code:bootrec/fixboot bootrec/fixmbr
I am booting from DVD, still says access denied,
Those other codes say they were successful yet still says acces denied to delete bootmgr
Tried booting as normal after that yet still says bootmgr is corrupt system can not boot
Now boot normally. It should say something like "bootmgr missing"... does it?Code:c: cd \ attrib -h -s bootmgr ren bootmgr bootmgr.old exit
Now do a startup repair

Ok have followed those instructions and conducted start up repair, upon re starting the system the system boots into start up repair with booting from the DVD, it just boots into start up repair automatically.
Upon reaching this start up repair it says cannot repair this system automatically and gives the option to send error report or not too. This happens upon every restart and can't proceed further
I asked you to renamed bootmgr to bootmgr.old on C drive. After that you got bootmgr missing on normal boot? It should because bootmgr isn't there anymore! Is this what happened?
After that you did a "startup repair". Startup repair should put the bootmgr back, so replace it with a fresh working copy. If you boot normally afterwards (with no dvd inserted!)... It boots from the recovery environment on harddisk automatically?
Is this exactly what happens?
Yes it got bootmgr missing on normal boot, then did start up repair from DVD, I then shut down the system after removing the OS DVD, it now boots into the hard drive recovery environment automatically.
if it boots automatically to recovery enviroment:
If the boot loader fails on the default entry, it will automatically try to boot into the recovery environment
no problems on disk?Code:chkdsk/f c:
If you perform a startup repair you see text something like "view diagnostics results". Press on it. Now you see the tests it did and the results. 0x0 means success.... which test(s) have other results and what result?
Bootmgr has been refreshed and that part works now!!
in recovery environment (form harddrive is fine)
