DVD Passes Inspection Fails to Play

Here is what is happening. I insert the DVD Disk. And nothing happens. I open up Explorer and click on the DVD Icon. Just as Windows 7 begins to scan the disk the disk is ejected with a message ' please insert a disk'.

In device manager/ properities - if I click on update driver Windows 7 states all is good. Nothing to do. I did choose region -United States, region 1. Once the DVD-R movie played did play. It was a fluke. After that experience it never happened again. This problem -inserting a DVD disk be it data, be it film materials happens on three HP xw8200 computers that I recently installed a fresh install Windows 7 Pro. Windows 7 works fine except I cannot access the DVD film/movie disks.

I noticed that the player can read and access any cd data disk that I inserted. So it looks as though on all three Hp computers that I can read/write cd disks - and cannot play a DVD disk with film / movie material. These are DVD devices on the computers. Example: Hl-Dt-St DVDRRW GLA-4166B ATA. Thanks for any fix.

Another note: I did run the Fix It and after twenty minutes Fix It stated there was no problem with Cd / DVD.
Then I reinserted the DVD disk /click on the DVD icon/ and the disk was again ejected with a 'please insert disk'
