System recovery incomplete, now stuck.

Ok, so I tried to do a system recovery aka factory reset on my Laptop w/ Windows 7. It seemed to go ok, but at the end it said that the system recovery failed. The only option I have is to retry, which doesn't yield any results. Now I can't boot up windows 7, it automatically goes to the system restore/recovery screen. What do I do now?

We always assume you have made your Recovery Disks using the OEM manufacturer's Recovery Media Creator app the first day you had your new PC.
& made the Startup Repair CD.

Did you make the OEM manufacturer's Recovery Disks?

You can order OEM Recovery disks from your OEM manufacturer's website.

It would be worth, Check the hard drive with the manufacturer's diagnostic tools.

I was convinced I wouldn't have to use those. I had the recovery partition on an external HDD, but I couldn't go out to get DVDs today, it being sunday 'n all. So I downloaded a Windows 7 iso from microsoft, put it onto a USB stick using WinToFlash, and reinstalled Windows 7 entirely. My laptop's working again!
