HP Probook 6455b BOOTMGR image Corrupt

    when i Put the repair disc in it loads windows files then it says (i'm Doing it as we speak)

    The disk will of course boot if there is no HD detected. Evidence of life would be it finding an installation to repair which shows the correct size, or the HDD still being detected in BIOS under Storage devices.

    (its running slower then when i did this yestuarday) stuck on blue screen with large arrow

    That plus the HD short test your ran would point to it. But you never answered if Startup Repair ran after detecting an installation? If it found an installation of the correct size then there is something left on the HD.

    Now it's just stuck on the blue screen with the large arrow (oh well). Do you think i should spend $40 to have a diagnostics done or Save it to spend that on a new HD? Thank you for all your help Greg.

    it said it found
    Operating system Windows 7 Partition 305142MB location (D:) Local disk

    But i cant get it to do it again. I will keep trying and see if i can get it to run again and i will let you know.

    Reseat the HD again making sure the contacts remain firmly placed.

    Run the HD maker's diagnostics as suggested twice now. This is the definitive word.
