32/64-bit, delivered via electronic distribution

Hello
I am trying to download the 64 bit MS Office Home and Student 2010 and found a page with a questionable download which states , "32/64-bit, delivered via electronic distribution."
Does that mean the download can discern between the need for 32 and 64 and i do not have to go further to select.
32 bit does not work.
Does anyone know my best way to get this download either as a downoad to the pc or as an iso file. I have the product key and hope I can get the office I paid for when I migrate from Win 7 to 8 with a clean install. Office came preinstalled in my Dell who won't talk unless you pay. Should i be at dell or MS?
Thank you
Peter

If Office came on your Dell originally then you should of gotten a CD/DVD disc along with your computer for Office. Or there is a utility included to make a disc of the installed software.

If it was the starter version with limited functionality then there is no disc or any way to save that version for reinstall. Also the key for that version will not work with any other version of Office, Home/Pro/whatever. Basically that is a Teaser to get you to Upgrade to a Full version of Office.

When the Download is listed as 32/64 it contains BOTH versions. You get to chose when doing the install.

.exe .iso

Hello
Someone was kind enought to send me what they thought was an iso of word which turned out to be a .exe. I did not know it was .exe till I saw it on the desktop.
I downloaded the .exe for 8 minutes to desktop. When I upgrade to Win 8 I will lose the file, obviously.
Is there some way I can save it to a flashdrive for example so when I actually do install Win 8, I will be able eto install it from the flashdrive or that not possible?
If it is possible i could keep it for future downoads as it is hard to find.
Please comment and thank you
Peter

I would not open and or run that .exe file. More then likely it is counterfeit or a virus of some type. To my knowledge Word is no longer offered as a stand alone program. It comes with Office and that is the only way to get it, To buy MS Office of one version or another. That is the newer versions.

But if you feel the need yes you can copy it to a flash or some other type of external drive. Just open Computer or Win Explorer and copy it mto the external.

Good Luck.

Office

I am not interested in just Word.
I bought MS Office 2010 Home and Student that came preinstalled with my Dell.
I tried the 32 bit version and it does not work.
Sites I have found do not state 64 and when you use them you find they are 32.

I paid for MS Office Home and Student when I bought the pc - it was an extra cost. Why should I not be able to dowenload and executable just as though I had a disc?

I scanned it with two machines and it is clean.

My question is,"Can I 'send to' from desktop to a cd so that when I have converted from Win 7 to Win 8, I will be able to double click the disc and install Office"? Or is it better to download the file again directly to the disc?

Like I said IF it came Pre-Installed on your Dell it also came with the CD/DVD disc/s to reinstall it. Dell is not allowed to Sell Office without supplying Reinstall discs. The Key you have where did you get it? It must of came with the computer on a sleeve for the reinstall discs.

Never bought Office from a PC maker as I don't care for the fact that all OEM software can only be reinstalled on the original computer it came on. So I buy mine as Retail or as of Late MSDN/Technet subscription.

If you did not get any disc then contact Dell. Or as stated before there is a Dell Utility to CREATE the system disc for your computer. That will included the disc/s needed to Reinstall your version of MS Office.
