       Information
We always assume you have made your Recovery Disks using the OEM manufacturer's Recovery Media Creator app the first day you had your new PC.
& made the Startup Repair CD.

Did you make the OEM manufacturer's Recovery Disks?

I think maybe Theog and myself are getting two different things from your original post. Do you want to install Windows 7 to your PC? If that is what you want, read this tutorial. Clean Install with a Upgrade Windows 7 Version This will tell you how to get Win 7 on your PC. You will need to back up your files because all of the files on your C: partition will be erased.

Your files will not be erased, as they are on the drive you will be pulling. But at the same time you will not be able to access them.

I think this might be best done with a Macrium image & then restore to the new HD

    Imaging with free Macrium

Guys, you are confusing the OP. You better agree who has the lead.

    And read his post:

He has a brand new HDD
and he wants to get rid of Vista
for that he has purchase a retail Win7 installation disc

Everything you need is here to Clean Reinstall - Factory OEM Windows 7 to your new hard drive.

Be sure to unplug the old HD beforehand, then after install you can plug it back in to copy over your files as described in the tutorial.

If you stick with the tools and methods in the install you will get and keep a perfect install.
