    Windows 7 installation error

I'm attempting to re-install my Windows 7 using disc which I've downloaded the iso version of then used imgBurn to mount it on to a DVD. I forget exactly which step this is but it's the part where when you click "Install Windows" and it starts extracting then it reboots the computer. At that part, after it goes through the loading screen, it gives an error (instead of bring me to the login page). The error says:

    File: \$WINDOWS.~BT\Windows\system32\kdcom.dll
    Status: 0xc0000098
Info: Windows failed to load because the kernel debugger DLL is missing or corrupt.

The windows I am attempting to install is Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit and the downloaded iso contains the same version for it with sp1 included. Is this my computer causing the problem or is the cd a defect and getting a new one would fix it? (If so, where can I find a reliable one, I've downloaded a few already and failed a few times...)

    Thanks in advance!

Your iso is bad or your copy method is bad. Are you following the tutorial, are you burning it at no more than 4x speed ?

Unplug all other HD's and peripherals,

Boot into BIOS setup to enable Legacy BIOS if present. Next check BIOS Boot order for an EFI Boot Disk and if present remove it, set DVD drive first to boot, HD second. Then set SATA controller to AHCI. Save changes and Exit.

Then boot into installer DVD or flash stick burned or written using tool and latest ISO for your licensed OS version here.

At first installer screen Press Shift + F10 to open a Command Box, type:

    DISKPART
    LIST DISK
SELECT DISK 0 (after confirming Windows 7 target HD #)
    CLEAN
CREATE PARTITION PRIMARY SIZE=102400 (for 100gb partition, adjust as desired)
    FORMAT FS=NTFS LABEL="WINDOWS 7"
    ACTIVE
    EXIT
    EXIT

Next click Install Now, then Custom install to Clean Install Windows 7 to the partition you created. If it fails then report back at which step and the verbatim error message.

In addition read over these steps to understand the tools and methods which work best to get and maintain a perfect Clean Reinstall - Factory OEM Windows 7. The steps are the same for retail.
