Changing from 32 bit to 64 bit O/S

Am I correct on thinking that no matter what version of software you are using if you want to go from 32 bit to 64 bit you have to do a clean install.

You will need a key to activate it, so you will have to buy Windows 7. I would get an OEM version ( it`s cheaper ) and you should max out your memory as you have a slow processor (cpu).

When you`re ready, come back and we will be glad to help you get it installed.

If you have a Windows 7 license on your machine, you may use the retail .iso and phone activation see
A Clean Install of Windows 7 which starts on page 64 of my document:
Windows Reinstallation Guide and Related Software Guides - Microsoft OS Forum - Software & Operating Systems - Dell Community
See the notes on page 66 which mention switching from 32 bit to 64 bit or vice versa.
Note this guide is Dell based but most the steps will work in non-Dell systems.
