Bootmgr issues with windows 7 - can windows 8 upgrade fix it?
*newbie lady here - forgive me for any naive posting!*
I'm not completely technical but i can follow stuff well, so bear with me.
The dell laptop our family have been using was full of junk. I mean ridiculous. We decided we had what we wanted on an external hard drive and we were more than happy to just wipe the whole thing as state from a factory state again.
I went into the option for the factory reset and it asked if i wanted to make a back up of anything. Hmmm, I thought, and I selected pictures and videos but that was it. I then left it and it took about an hour to do that. then it said it was ready to be reset so i went with it.
Now? I Get the Bootmgr thing. I've tried to reboot it from all the options, but theres nothing from it to boot from anymore.
I dont have an installation disk, or any disks that came with it. It was bought from Tesco and it was already installed.
My question - if you have got this far , is
a) is there a simple no/low cost fix
b) if I decided to pick up Windows 8 Pro from Sainsburys down the road, will popping that in save the day?
I'm not a heavy user and we do have a *cough*mac*cough in the house but I'm not so familar with it yet and I do have more technical knowledge when it comes to Windows than Apple macs! (believe it or not from my post!)
