    Every Windows installation has their own Product Key. The one on your PC is for Vista. You need to buy Windows 7. You will then get a Product Key and a disk to install. That is the reason you are having problems.

    ok got me some windows 7. hope this helps with the driver problems.

    You're entitled to buy Upgrade version. As no OS was on the HD when you installed go ahead and skip entering the key during install, then afterwards do the quick registry workaround given in Option 3 here to activate Win7 on a new or wiped HD: Clean Install with a Upgrade Windows 7 Version
