Matlab installation problem Hello. I am new in Windows 7 Home premium and i have a "small" problem with installing matlab. While the installation starts the progress bar is showing that installation is proceeding well, but after a while it stucks and the needed time for the installation increases (exponentially) and the whole system freezes and i can not do anything. I tried to install Matlab 2012b and 2010b and the same problem occurs with both matlab versions. That makes me . What could be the problem? | My System Specs |

I notice one of the requirements is TCP/IP, which suggests it needs to be on line when you install and /or run. Are you on-line when you try to install? Also try installing as Administrator and see if that helps. RIGHT click on the install icon or exe and the LEFT click Run As Administrator. | My System Specs | | Computer type PC/Desktop System Manufacturer/Model Number My Own Build OS Windows 7, 64 bit Home SP1, Win 8 Pro 64 bit CPU Intel i7 3770 Motherboard Gigabyte GA-Z77X-UD5H Memory 16GB GSkill Ripsaw F3-14900CL9Q-16GBXL Graphics Card Sapphire HD7770 Sound Card RealTek Monitor(s) Displays Viewsonic VA2448 Series 24" LED Screen Resolution 1920X1080 Keyboard Kensington wired Mouse Logitech Wireless PSU Antec High Current Gamer HCG-620M Modular Case Coolermaster HAF XM Cooling Corsair H80 Liquid cooling with aftermarket Nexus quiet fans Hard Drives 240GB Intel 520 SSD for Win 7

Try installing ONline as Fireberd suggested. Many installers need to check for updates and validation while installing. | My System Specs | | Computer type PC/Desktop System Manufacturer/Model Number Home Built Desktop By DataTech OS Windows 7 Ultimate X64 SP1 CPU Intel i5-2550K, Differing ~4.4-4.8GHz No built in GPU Motherboard ASUS P8Z68-V PRO/GEN3 Memory 16GB G.Skill Sniper 2133MHz 4x4GB Graphics Card ASUS ENGTX460 DirectCU/2DI/1GD5 GeForce GTX 460 Sound Card Onboard Realtek 5-1 Monitor(s) Displays Samsung P2570HD Screen Resolution 1920x1080 Keyboard Old, beat-up Dell USB From 10 yrs Ago Mouse Gigabyte m6900 wired PSU Corsair HX650W Case Inwin Dragon Rider Cooling Hyper 212 EVO w/two Noctua fans, push-pull, @1300 RPM Hard Drives Crucial M4 128GB for OS, 750GB Seagate MomentusXT for data, 500GB Seagate Constellation for storage Internet Speed 8-19 Mbs down, 3-4 Mbs up Comcast Cable Antivirus Norton Internet Security Browser IE 9, Opera when needed Other Info 4 case fans, LG BluRay-RE, ASUS DVD-RW, Mr. Fusion power generator with flux capacitor, 1.21 gigawatts. |

You may need to contact the Matlab people at MathWorks - MATLAB and Simulink for Technical Computing. Rumor has it that they offer free installation support for all versions.
My employer has a network license for Matlab. They have set up a script to allow it to be installed by users. After I upgraded it a few months ago (don't recall the version number; not the latest), it wouldn't launch. Our IT department's solution was to remove the autologin software that they provide for all the browser-based software used in the company, each piece with its own user ID and password. That fixed Matlab, but it doesn't give me a safe and comfortable feeling. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number homegrown OS Windows 7 Pro X64 SP1 CPU Intel Core I7-3930k Motherboard Asus P9X79 Pro Memory 16 GB Gskill DDR3-2133 Graphics Card eVGA GTX680 Sound Card Creative X-Fi Titanium Monitor(s) Displays As PA246Q Screen Resolution 1920 X 1200 Keyboard cheap Logitech USB Mouse Microsoft Intellimouse Explorer (old optical) USB PSU PCP&C Silencer 750 Crossfire Case Silverstone FT02 Cooling Noctua NH-D14 Hard Drives Corsair Force GT, 120 GB
