    Matlab installation problem

Hello. I am new in Windows 7 Home premium and i have a "small" problem with installing matlab. While the installation starts the progress bar is showing that installation is proceeding well, but after a while it stucks and the needed time for the installation increases (exponentially) and the whole system freezes and i can not do anything. I tried to install Matlab 2012b and 2010b and the same problem occurs with both matlab versions. That makes me . What could be the problem?

I notice one of the requirements is TCP/IP, which suggests it needs to be on line when you install and /or run. Are you on-line when you try to install? Also try installing as Administrator and see if that helps. RIGHT click on the install icon or exe and the LEFT click Run As Administrator.

Try installing ONline as Fireberd suggested. Many installers need to check for updates and validation while installing.

You may need to contact the Matlab people at MathWorks - MATLAB and Simulink for Technical Computing. Rumor has it that they offer free installation support for all versions.

My employer has a network license for Matlab. They have set up a script to allow it to be installed by users. After I upgraded it a few months ago (don't recall the version number; not the latest), it wouldn't launch. Our IT department's solution was to remove the autologin software that they provide for all the browser-based software used in the company, each piece with its own user ID and password. That fixed Matlab, but it doesn't give me a safe and comfortable feeling.
