Windows 7: GIGABYTE 970A-UD3 wont boot from disc

I have a Gigabyte 970A-UD3 that refuses to Boot from Disc. Trying to run Memtest (before it was Windows 7 disc, had to install OS from inside OS) and the darn thing wont boot up the disc or give me the option to press any key to boot from disc. Even hit F12 in order to select boot and it goes straight to loading OS even if I select from Disc. I can pop any disc into the DVD drive, no issue. I have the BIOS set to boot from disc first, SSD second. Kind of at a loss, trying to solve some other computer issues, but am blocked by this.

I see Tom couldn't help. Have you tried the disc on another computer?

If other disks boot then you've probably got a bad burn or ISO, unless it does indeed boot on another PC and cue up install or repair. Download another and burn to disk using ImgBurn at 4x speed.

Try resetting BIOS to defaults: Clear CMOS - 3 Ways to Clear the CMOS - Reset BIOS.

Set HD first to boot then trigger disk to boot using one time BIOS Boot Menu key given on first screen.

If this fails write the installer ISO to flash stick using UltraISO Software To Create Bootable USB Flash Drive, or to boot memtest from flash use Hiren's BootCD From USB Flash Drive (Pen Drive) » www.hiren.info

To force install Windows 7, wipe the HD with the HD maker's HD diagnostics on Hirens boot stick or disk which should boot itself, which should force installer to boot itself to Clean Reinstall - Factory OEM Windows 7

Havent tested disc out on any other computer yet. Will try it on the wife's laptop, see if the memtest boots up. Just strange, GIGABYTE is new to me, I've always gone ASUS before

I have a lot of Gigabyte MB's. I have always had excellent luck & use with them. What is the Make & Model of the DVD drive you have connected ? Is it IDE or SATA ? What port is it connected to of the MB ?

DVD is LG BH10Ls30 SATA, plugged into the number 3 spot on the MOBO. Cleared CMOS, still no dice. GOing to swap out a DVD drive and see if that has an effect.

I have had good luck with LG DVD drives, also. But aleast if you swap it out, you are slowly narrowing down the problem. Also try a different SATA Data cable also

Swapped out didn't do anything. Swapped sata cable to no. 5 slot on mobo and switched 4/5 from sata to IDE mode, boots now. Running memtest now
