Just made a gaming pc, windows 7 goes to black screen at boot

So i put together a computer

    Specs:

    Motherboard

    Gigabyte ga-z77x-ud5h rev 1.1

    Intel i7 3770k

8 gb ram single corsair stick

    1tb hd

    128 gb ssd

    Asus optical drive

What i am trying to do, is install windows on a completely new computer. Right after the " starting up" screen with the flag, it goes to a blue screen for a split second (the install menu) and then gets frozen at a black screen. Wtf!

Is there a newer BIOS update? Check the Giga site.

If not is this an EFI BIOS as on most new mobos? If so there are special steps to install to UEFI (Unified Extensible Firmware Interface) - Install Windows 7 with - Windows 7 Forums.

An alternative to installing in EFI is to Bypass UEFI to Install WIn7

My current bios is 14? How do i update it? I need to go on another pc and download it to a usb? Or what? I forgot to add that I am installing windows 7 off a dvd right from the store.

Also do I need new drivers for the MB before i try to install the OS? If so how do I download them?

The drivers are almost all in the installer, then updated via optional Windows Updates.

Check for a newer BIOS on the Support Downloads webpage for your model Mobo. Read for the improvements it offers to see if they may pertain to your install failure, and how the update is flashed from boot which can be risky if you have a power failure.

More important is to know if it's EFI BIOS so you can follow the special steps which I linked which you failed to acknowledge. Did you say you built this PC?

Yeah it is EFI. Matter a fact UEFI is written everywhere. This is my first pc build so I am having sort of a hard time, but i know it will be worth it in the end. Had a problem with commecting the pc to the monitor as there was no signal, now that i fixed that this pops up.

Then you'll need to follow the extra steps to install to UEFI (Unified Extensible Firmware Interface) - Install Windows 7 with - Windows 7 Forums.

If you run into problems you can decide if EFI is important enough to troubleshoot with our help, or you can get the normal install to MBR disk follow the steps to Bypass UEFI to Install WIn7.

    Just tried.

    Boot Manager:
Windows failed to start. A recent hardware of software change might be the cause. To fix the problem:

1.Insert your Windows installation disc and restart the computer.
2.Choose your language settings, and then click "Next".
    3.Click "Repair your computer."

If you do not have this disc, contact your system administrator or computer manufacturer for assistance.

    Status: 0xc000000f

Info: The boot selection failed because a required device is inaccessible.
