Windows 7: Lenovo Clean Install Wireless Problem

I recently got a Lenovo V570 laptop. I was going to do a Clean Install of Win 7 to get the crapware off of the C: drive. I have ran across many threads about when doing a clean install the wifi doesn't work. I have searched for a lot of hours to find the solution and finally have found it but do not quite understand it.

Never heard of that or the wireless not working once you install the driver if it is missing once Windows 7 starts up the first time.

There are three different Wireless drivers posted for Windows 7 on the Lenovo Support Downloads webpage which is the place you'd normally get it: Drivers and software - Lenovo V570 Notebook

If you don't know what wireless device you have you can try all three, or trace the actual make/model using Hardware Identification. In addition you can back up Windows/System32 folder to browse for any drivers after a reinstall - they are all there.

Once the correct driver installs, 95% of the time you'll see the wireless 5 bar icon appear in System Tray with a yellow light showing that networks are available to connect. You'd only need to select yours and give the wireless key. If that fails, rightclick the icon to Troubleshoot which may sort it for you.

If everything fails, power cycle your Modem, router and reboot PC.

As I said I've never heard of drive position having any bearing on whether wireless would work once the correct driver is installed. But if it truly wouldn't troubleshoot I'd try probably try it.

There is a problem doing the clean install as per many threads as I said. I was just trying to get some one to read the link I left and see what was their impression of it.

I read the thread referenced twice and think it sounds farfetched. Windows Boot Manager would only be priority in an EFI install anyway, so you can install normally to an MBR disk with Legacy BIOS or CSM enabled and the SATA drive would be set first.

Is there anything else you found that confirms this theory?
