How to install windows 2000 on a modern hp p7

Um why XXXX? Have you got data on an old 2000 OS you need?

if so it can be done without having to install the whole sheebang mate.

As long as you have the windows 2000 CD and your rig has a CD drive, you should be able to install it. You may need device drivers for your hardware. You could always use vmware player and create a windows 2000 VM on your current system instead.

Drop the disc in and find out, don`t see why you can`t.

Hum I thought maybe OP had some data on an old drive that was needed and needed a running system to retrieve it

yes I am having a senior moment

. I have "dropped the cd" in and it gives me: stop , you know BSOD. So, Iwas wondering if I can get windows 2000 at all, since it is giving me the stop error!!! I am not asking for instructions!

You should be getting press any key, does this cd work fine on other pc`s ? I`m assuming yes ?

I don't have other pc's to try it on, I will try it on Virtualbox, but I am wondering should I set it to windows 7 and then install 200 on the windows 7 so that it is just like what I am doing?
