| | How do I create windows 7 boot drive in windows 8 Hi, I have just bought a new laptop for my wife and it has windows 8 on it. It has no optical drive and she would prefer to use windows 7. I have a windows 7 dvd but this isn't much use for me here! So far, I have got an extracted windows 7 .iso file on the desktop but not sure what to do with this next. I am aware I can't just drag the .iso file onto the flash drive and then boot the laptop from usb, there seems to be more to it than that. It would probably just ignore it and not boot from it. What I have here is a Windows 8 laptop and one with Ubuntu on it with which to work with. This new one will be arriving within the next few days. Any help is very much appreciated, thanks. Sam. |

| | After being a very keen user since Windows 95, I hate to say but it took a special kind of stupid to come up with this disjointed thing they call Windows 8. To me personally, for a desktop, it's totally unproductive, every action requires an extra press or click of something. Probably great on a tablet, but I'll never know! Sam. |
