Help with Windows 7 100MB Sector

So I finally got around to checking one of my set ups and I discovered that it does not have the Windows 7 100MB section on the SSD. I double checked with Macrium and sure enough, there is no 100MB section on the SSD.

Is there a way to install it without having to reload the entire O/S again?

Do you need it for anything? Its not critical if your system boots just fine, unless you want to use Bitlocker.

Check his out - I've never used it though:

Well, all my other systems have the 100MB part so I just wanted to keep them all the same. I have no issues with that computer; but on others I had to use the repair a couple of times which helped.

The part in Step 4, section 3 says to do a "clean install" and I do not want to that.

Is it then not possible to create the 100MB part without having to wipe out everything?

The 100 MB system reserved partition is created when you install windows to unallocated space, if a partition is created for windows and marked active it is not created.

    Dug this up.

Well, I don't remember that far back. I got two SSD's (identical) and then loaded Windows 7. That was about 4-6 months ago. Today I am really bored, decided to tool around and then I discovered that one has no 100MB section while the other computer does.

So I just want ed to see if it is possible to create without losing what I have. Any help (or not possible help) is good.

    Thanks everyone

If you don't need Bitlocker or to Dual Boot, then there's no reason you need the System Reserved partition.

We can help you create it if you insist but there is risk so back up a Win7 backup image first, and post back here a screenshot of your maximized Disk mgmt drive map and listings using the Snipping Tool in Start Menu.

I'd also agree there is basically little need to the have the system reserved if you don't use Bitlocker. I personally think it is useful if you multiboot. In this case I think it is cleaner to have the bootmgr and the BCD on its own little partition and not attached to one of the OS partitions.

If you really want to it's easy to add a system reserved up the front were it normally lives using free Partition Wizard. If you want to do this I'd recommend ~200MB rather than 100MB which is what MS should have stuck with.
