    Windows 7 Update

    Hi all,

I have installed Windows 7 Professional x86 on a Toshiba Tecra laptop. I started to install the Windows updates, everything went fine, but there are three folders made on the C:\ partition, with strange names like 2d969cde1b9d6621ae626318ce13.

AFAIK, these folders contain files needed during the update process. However, after rebooting the computer they remain and cannot be deleted, even in Safe Mode. They are assigned to the System account and the administrator account cannot get full control over them to be able to remove them. What can I do?

    Thanks,
    Lucian

Is there any particular reason that you want to delete them??

Did you try taking ownership first? And by "administrator account" do you mean the real Administrator account or ones that are hindered by UAC?

If they really bother you seeing there there, make them hidden. Personally, I just leave them alone.

Yes, their names look ugly :). Well, although they aren't large (about 1.3 MB), their place is not there... I don't like to have a lot of folders in the root directory, especially on the boot partition.

I tried, but no luck. The UAC si disabled on my computer, so this is a real administrator account.
