How to Switch from Ubuntu to Windows 7 cannot get it to work Hello People so not to long ago i was having trouble with Windows 7 and had someone install a Ubuntu OS but it was not a legal copy I assume, but now the people who actually use the computer such as my family don't like it and want windows back so what I did was boot from disk with the Installation disk in the drive but i get to a point where I have to select Where to install windows it reads " Where do you want to install Windows" and under the options it gives me two options.
Name: Disk 0 Partition 1 Total Size: 329.5GB Free Space: 0.0MB Type: System
Name: Disk 0 Partition 2 Total Size: 5.9GB Free Space: 0.0 MB Type: Logical
and it does not let me continue past this point on the bottom there is a notification that says
"Windows cannot be installed to Disk 0 Partition 1 (Show Details)"
when I click on show details a message pops up that reads
"Windows cannot be installed to this hard disk space. Windows must be installed to a partition formatted as NTFS.
Windows cannot be installed to this hard disk space. The partition is of an unrecognized type."
This is the farthest I can get into the installation. Any help would be much appreciated, I tried to be as specific as possible while describing this but if anyone needs more info please let me know i will post it up
Thanks Everyone | My System Specs |

Well firstly Ubuntu is free and not illegal but what I suggest is to press f8 repeatedly until you get a boot selection screen go to windows and back everything up then install Windows 7 clean I also had this problem | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number AsusTeK Computer Inc. If you had problems with 7, why didn`t you just fix 7. Ubuntu can be run from the cd, there is no reason to install it. | My System Specs | | Computer type PC/Desktop System Manufacturer/Model Number Custom Built by Me ! And, every day, folks do just this .. believing that Ubuntu is something like a free version of Windows.
Next thing they want to know is how to install and run all their Windows apps.
And then, we have to tell them -- they don't! | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Custom OS Win7 Pro 32-bit, Win7 Home 32-bit CPU AMD 4400/Intel 915 Motherboard ASUS/Intel Memory 2GB DDR 400 Graphics Card ATI X1600/Builtin Intel 915 Sound Card Bluegear B-Enspirer/Builtin sound Monitor(s) Displays Samsung 24" widescreen Screen Resolution 1920x1200/1024 x 768 |

Wine can definitely run SOME Windows apps. I know, I've used it -- and gave up on it because it couldn't run any of the apps I use on a regular basis.
To find out which ones, CodeWeavers put up a website with an Application Compatibility search tool that will return the "rating" for the app and version you want to run. About half of the entries are rated Bronze (meaning it installs, and performs basic functions, but not much else) and Garbage (meaning, it won't work no matter what you do). | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Custom OS Win7 Pro 32-bit, Win7 Home 32-bit CPU AMD 4400/Intel 915 Motherboard ASUS/Intel Memory 2GB DDR 400 Graphics Card ATI X1600/Builtin Intel 915 Sound Card Bluegear B-Enspirer/Builtin sound Monitor(s) Displays Samsung 24" widescreen Screen Resolution 1920x1200/1024 x 768 |

Then again Linux and windows are like aliens and humans they aren't even related. most people should have searched up Linux versions of their apps. BTW I have office 2007 and gta vice city they both run fine on wine. (LOL that should be their slogan) | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number AsusTeK Computer Inc. The application problem in Linux seems to be mostely about games. For all other areas, I have found good Linux applications. Maybe my requirements are too modest, but the native Linux applications usually suffice for what I want to do. And it's always fun to experiment with new apps. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number HP, Dell, Gateway, Toshiba - 4 laptops and 2 desktops OS Vista, Windows7, Mint Mate, Zorin, Windows 8 CPU from 1.6GHz Duo to i7 Monitor(s) Displays 2x HP w2207 Keyboard with trackball - no mices Mouse Trackball mice Hard Drives 5x HDD, 7x SSD, 12x Externals Internet Speed DSL 6000 How to Switch from Ubuntu to Windows 7 cannot get it to work problems?
