    first things first

We need info on your machine. make, model, ram, etc

and what version of win 7 (type winver in search), and when does/did it expire?

did you upgrade, dual boot or do a clean install?

If it was pre installed its likely to have a separate partition on your HD, do you have any recovery dvds?

True but hs doesn't have the cd's and may not even have a backup.

Ok yep win 7 7022 is timing out. does your computer shutdown every couple of hours? Since you dont have any of the original vista/restore disks, the only way to restore it back to vista is if you download and burn vista (from MS?) to dvd. then you could TRY a restore from the restore partition that was there when the computer left the factory. Did you do any backups while vista was installed?

Im thinking this is going to be a waste of time. Is there anything on the drive that you cant live without?

.i got it off isohunt..i know doing all this was a huge mistake Yep A huge mistake. We have no idea what they added (virus) or removed (something critical)
...i could download vista or maybe get it off a teacher in college If you get a vista dvd you can at least clean install it providing you have a vista key. (if it came pre-installed there is at least an OEM key on a sticker on the outside of the laptop
, i can check 2moro and see what the story is..
and yh i have everything backed up so its ok like
First get a vista dvd (a real one)
    Burn it to dvd
    do a clean install
import anything you need using the east transfer wizard

    Hope this works

I believe the RTM is stall available from Microsoft (members correct me on this if it isn't available at this date). Or, you can go to the Microsoft download site and get a copy of the 90 day Enterprise Edition which would give you a chance to test Win 7 for the 90 day period, or until you can get a retail copy (goes on sale on 22 Oct.). Avoid using torrent sites—you can end up with a bad copy from these sites, and chances of getting someone from the Seven Forums to help you with a torrent copy (illegal) is unlikely.

Reinstall Vista first, then if possible install Win 7 as a dual boot.

And, by the way Welcome to "Seven Forums"
