Our Acer came with & home pro 64. we did a AU to ultimate64. The laptop is slowing way down and needs a fresh install. Not sure how to do this. Do i use my original BU disks then use my same AU code and redownload or will i need to call microsoft? the Acer also has a 0 partition. so i'm just lost any help would be great.

I would use the original BU disks. If you have a problem just call MS, it is a very fast and quite simple thing to call them.
ok, but then how do i get ultimate back on the laptop. wife uses the functions of ultimate, so we need that back on and i'd rather not pay for it again.

The Backup Disks reinstall the factory image which is a corrupt install to begin with, larded with bloatware that smothers Win7 native performance.
I would instead take the opportunity to Clean Reinstall - Factory OEM Windows 7.

Then after its all set up and running best, save a Win7 or other backup image externally so you don't have to go through it again. Backup Complete Computer - Create an Image Backup
