    How can I run 32bit programs on a 64bit machine? Windows 7 / Ultimate

    I want to upgrade a 2008 Win7 Pro 32bit computer to Win7 Ultimate 64bit.

Have new mobo, processor, 16gb memory, 256gb SSD. Would like to be able to use my 32bit programs for a while, until I can replace them with 64bit progs.

How can I do this? Or do I need to have two machines?

I have searched this forum and found some old posts that suggested I start a new thread.

    Very grateful for your help.

Most 32bit apps will run fine on 64bit Windows, unless they have 32bit driver dependencies or include 16bit code.

What apps are you using, specifically, that you are concerned about? You might want to search the compatibility catalog first to see if any have been officially tested and submitted:

I have Windows 7 Pro 64 Bit and the majority of my apps are 32BIT. You will not have any problems.

As stated, you should have no problems, unless the programs are very old or just not compatible with windows 7.

Use these steps to get a perfect Clean Reinstall - Factory OEM Windows 7 - even for retail.

The 64 bit installer for your licensed version is provided in Step 1.
