    Hi ericwoo

Click on this link Windows 7 Direct Download Links choose your language .

Note: this will install Windows clean not an upgrade . Use the product key underneath your laptop if its a desktop it will be on the side . This key will work with x86(32-bit) or x64-bit

Thanks VistaKing. I am looking to follow the instructions Brink showed me here: How to restore a Windows 7-based computer to a previous Windows installation by using the Windows.old folder

Is this download the same as the tutorial is suggesting for Windows 7 installation disc?

I am trying to revert back to my computer's previous state whether I can't get the Windows update working or not. These instructions don't mention that I have to enter my Windows key. I can't read my key number on my computer because it is worn out.

Sorry for jumping in. You might give Belarc Advisor a try. It's also listed in this Forum's "Free Great Programs" tutorial.

    Hi Brink or anyone,

I decided to continue with the custom install. Instead of reverting back, there was a solution to just update Windows.old files back onto the computer.

Only problem now after this custom install is my DVD/CD drive isn't working. How can I fix this?

You may need to reinstall your motherboard drivers, although the DVD drive shouldn't need them. Have you run Windows Update yet? Refresh your WEI too, press the Windows logo key+Pause/Break then Rating.

    Eric,

What brand and model is your motherboard or computer?

We'll be happy to see if we can find it's driver download page. :)
