    How to Restore Factory Settings


    How can i restore my computer to factory settings. It will only allow me to go back to an earlier time or re install windows using a disc. A disc did not come with my computer. Hope you can help. Thanx

    it says it will ask for a windows password. is there a generic one as i didn't create one when i bought the computer

    You should be able to leave the password field empty and click on OK then. :)

    We always assume you have made your Recovery Disks using the OEM manufacturer's Recovery Media Creator app the first day you had your new PC.
    & made the Startup Repair CD.

    of course i didn't make any recovery discs, that would have been the smart thing to do...lol. the computer is going through the installation now, so i should now soon whether its worked or if i've totally stuffed it. If i'm lucky and it's worked i should make those recovery discs, right? thanks Theog
