    Accelerating GPT disk

Hi...a couple of questions I would appreciate answering!!!

I have a gigabyte Z77-UD3 board with an Intel ssd in the onboard m-sata slot which I want to use to accelerate a 500Gb disk using IRST(intel rapid storage technology)...

Q1. Is it best to install Win7 with UEFI or normal bios?
Q2. Does a UEFI install automatically format the disk as a GPT disk?
Q3. Can a GPT formatted disk be accelerated using IRST?

    thanks and regards

    Russ.

Some have reported faster boots with UEFI, or appreciate the graphical interface, but others see no difference.

So I would first try to install to UEFI (Unified Extensible Firmware Interface) - Install Windows 7 with - Windows 7 Forums even though I find it annoying - just to see if it offers advantages you like.

But if UEFI gives chronic installation problems then one can make the choice to Bypass UEFI to Install WIn7.

Here is a good video that explains UEFI BIOS vs. Legacy BIOS - YouTube
