Saving/Retaining screen resolution

I recently installed Windows 7 Ultimate x86 on my Acer Veriton L460 and seem to have a couple of issues. One, I can only run my monitor at 1600x1200 (highest resolution available from the Windows 7 driver - my monitors default res is 1900x1200.) Two, since I use a KVM when I switch from the Acer to another computer, my screen resolution automatically drops down to 1024x768 forcing me to reset the screen res every time I switch to and from the Acer.

Using the canned driver from Windows or using one from Intel makes no difference though I'm sure this may have something to do with the driver(s).

Is there some way to set my resolution at whatever and have it remain? This question isn't about going to 1900x1200 even though I'd really prefer to do that, it's more about telling the system to lock my current setting at what I've chosen. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
