When installing from the DVD did you set the first boot device to the DVD? This is different across the board.

You would need to add USB 3.0 drivers to the Windows 7 USB installation .

Use this tool below to add USB 3.0 drivers

If it prompts for drivers try supplying the unzipped USB 3.0 driver (from the Sony Support Downloads webpage for your model, possibly in the chipset) there so you don't have to slipstream it. If you can make it to the Drive Selection page there is also a "Load Drivers" link to click there to supply the driver.

       Information
We always assume you have made your Recovery Disks using the OEM manufacturer's Recovery Media Creator app the first day you had your new PC.
& made the Startup Repair CD.

Did you make the OEM manufacturer's Recovery Disks?

The OP said his DVD drive does not work that is why he created a bootable USB Flash Drive .

i get that error every now and then when the setup isn't configured correctly, i think it might have something to do with Autouantted.xml also, but i'm not sure...

The Autounattend.xml file is something the user creates using a tool it doesn't come with Windows 7 added into it . If he wants to create the .xml file he would need Windows AIK (Automated Installation Kit) installed
