Hmm, I see your point but I shut my systems down every night and certainly when I go away for weeks. I then even cut the whole power line off - because of possible T-storms.

I try to write for the average consumer who either shut it down after use because they consider it an appliance like an oven, or a huge segment of mostly younger generations tend to pay no attention to the state their PC is in when they walk away by default.

Thus these provide perfect failsafe defaults protecting both their work and the hardware besides great convenience.

Hiberate was somewhat buggy in previous versions so many are still trained to turn it off for that XPired reason. Sorry it bugs me to see that taught here.

Personally I have never used the hibernate function, so gaining the extra 16gb on the ssd is more beneficial than allocating it to a never used function. With the speed of start up now with the ssd I turn my rig off more so now than in times past. I appreciate your thoughts thou Greg, but for me I never use hibernate.
Now, what to do with a new 250g evo unit, lol.

I am of the same opinion as far as hibernate goes. I think Greg likes to keep the system as original as possible. For people that are not familiar with the system, that is probably a good approach. But sometimes 'shortcuts' help to meet other goals - like in this case.

The larger SSD can still be useful for running a selection of virtual partitions. I run 6 Linux distros and Windows 8 in virtual partitions but since I have only smaller SSDs, I always have to swap them in and out. And if nothing else, you can install the virtual partitions on an externally attached SSD. That's what I have also done because I had an extra 60GB SSD lying around. It works very well. Here are a few tutorials that may give you some ideas.

VMware Player - Install Windows 8

VMware Player - Install and Setup Zorin

Portable OS - Carry your OS on an External Drive

VMware Player - a Windows 8 Demo

And download the control sheet for a series of tutorials I made about Linux Mint - a really sexy system that is very easy to use. One major advantage of Linux is that you can safely browse on the internet without being worried about malware. Besides it is a very fast and efficient system and it is free.

Outlook 2010 - Copy Existing PST Folders to New PST
Making a new Outlook data file (PST) is even easier in Outlook 2010 than in Outlook 2003 (maybe 2007 as well?). You can store the new PST in any location: new folder on local drive, different local drive, removable drive, network drive, etc. Here I will create a new Outlook 2010 data file, save...

Can't copy and replace existing file
I cannot copy a file and replace an exiting file: No messages, not even "file exists"; this includes drags and copy/paste. Get "file exists" on "Save As. On "Cut" "Error 0x80070490: Element not found" I have to physically delete the file and paste the new one. This is not a protection...
