    Can not install windows 7

    Good Day ..

I am trying to install Windows 7 ultimate on my computer. But it does not seem to want to continue install after the first restart during the Install Process.

    Here is what I did:

I put in the dvd, and boot my computer from the DVD. I set the DVD to be the only boot device in the BIOS. The installer starts. I go through all the steps needed for install.every thing was going fine hen It comes to the first restart, and the computer restarts. after that black screen in appear with a message " windows setup ( EMS Enabled) then when i hit inter the computer brings up the first step to the install. Where it shows the "Install Now" Button. I mean to say the installation start again from begin

Not sure what I did wrong through all this. My computer Specs are 2.20Ghz, 2 GB of Ram, Clean 320 GB AHCI Hard drive

So if someone could help me get Windows 7 up and running, that would be great!

    Thanks in advance,

    That's your mistake.
Set the dvd-rom to be the first but not the only boot device on the list.
Then after the restart it will give you five seconds to press a key to boot from the CD, don't press anything and it will continue with the installation.

Hello Anand, and welcome to Seven Forums.

The issue is that you have the DVD drive set as the only boot device. Instead, you need to have the DVD set as the first boot device, and your hard drive listed as the second boot device in your priority settings.

What's happening is that when the computer restarts, it starting from the DVD again instead of the hard drive and starting the installation all over.

To fix this, set your boot priority list as mentioned above, then either restart the PC to let it continue the installation or start over from scratch.

    Clean Install Windows 7

    Hope this helps, :)

    Welcome to the Forum ananddev.
You could have a bad or damaged DVD.
Where did you get the Windows 7 DVD from?
Did you burn the DVD? If you did burn the DVD what program did you use and from what site did you get the download.

Don't press any key's while it is booting keep your hands off the keyboard, walk away from the computer if you feel the urge to touch it

If the above doesn't help, then you could start over by booting from the DVD, delete the hard drive until it's unallocated, then select it.

You said you pressed Enter. You were advised not to do that.

Just let it be and it should continue with install after a timeout period.
