[QUOTE=bigmck;2553644]First off, I paid for all the parts, not him. Second, he normally asks for $50 commission for orders, but insisted we don't pay him because our order took more than two weeks (mostly from complications involving shipping and an incompatible power supply, both of which were eventually amended). Third, when we we able to make a date on Skype to troubleshoot the thing, he and I spent about three hours messing with BIOS and staring at progress bars. And on top of that, my friend who directed me to the builder had a $1,500 rig built but the guy, which has yet to see any notable complications, let alone his OS being disabled. I think a scam artist would be a bit more slick than that. Also, this isn't the first time we've gone so long without contact. He's dropped off the face of the earth at least twice since I first contacted him, and a lot more often with my friend who is a close friend of the builder.

If any Builder sold you preinstalled Win7 without a COA sticker then he broke the law.
To direct you to a torrent to reinstall is the sketchiest behavior I've seen here from a builder, so this is why there's skepticism and probably a moderator already watching the thread.
But by all means give him the chance to answer where is the COA sticker and/or Product Key for the Win7 you paid for so we can help you get it reinstalled perfectly, as we've done for tens of thousands of others here.
