Install is stalling and has very long delays
First off I had the downloadable windows 7 x64 7100 rc installed on my computer for a long time and decided instead of pirating win7 this time I would actually buy it using the student edition x64 pro downloaded. So i tried to install this after downloading it and extracting it and everything worked ok until it does the final startup where it shows the black screen and it is supposed to show "windows is preparing your computer for its first start" or something to that effect, but that screen never shows it just shows a black desktop and a mouse cursor and nothing else.
I then formated my drive and tried installing a few of my other win7 dvds from previous versions i had downloaded (older builds). all of these did the same thing. I got out my winxp 32bit disc and it installs just fine.... so I just made my downloaded student version into a bootable disc and I am trying to install that now and see what happens.
anyone have an idea of why the setup would stall after I have expanded the windows files, installed features and updates and completed installation (the checklist screen). but I cant get to the "preparing computer for first start" screen?
