I wanted to use the Windows 7 OEM clean installation guide.
I have an Acer Aspire and I saw that there are many programs that belong to Acer, and the clean OEM installation guide is going to do a clean installation without all these Acer programs. I wanted to know if it's going to be bad not to have all these specific programs for this laptop?

If you don`t use them, then there`s no reason to have them.
Check the manufacture's website to see if the programs are there to download.
It's very rare that Users want any of the factory bloatware back after a Clean Reinstall - Factory OEM Windows 7.
However sometimes software queued on the PC model's Support Downloads webpage is needed for certain function keys, lighting and other features. This is why the tutorial says to check for these during the performance shake-out period. There are also Special Notes for Owners at the end of tutorial which provide more details on this.
Another example is cam software. It's really only needed if you want to look at yourself, since the simple driver will allow the cam's use on Facebook, messenger, Skype where it is actually used. If any needed settings controls are missing you may want to reinstall the OEM cam software to see if it helps.
Which Acer program do you now rely upon?
You have to be careful with the factory programs. If they relate to some particular piece of hardware, they may be the only option to control that hardware.
Example: I had a Sony laptop with a backlit keyboard. The settings for the backlighting could only be controlled with a program supplied by Sony and which came with the laptop.
Wolfgang, is this Special Note sufficient for what you experienced with Sony Clean Reinstall?

This is useful information for VAIO owners that I did not have at the time. Even the Sony people did not point that out to me.
I ended up returning the laptop because the BIOS did not allow to run any Linux and you also could not change the boot priority to boot from an external disk although the laptop had a USB3 and eSata port.
It's an Acer Aspire 5732z (quite old) but I was wondering if any of the preinstalled software is requiered for the laptop to function properly
**Edit : I thought of doing clean install because I just got this laptop from someone and I scanned it with MBAM and it had many malware, so I was thinking to perform a clean reinstall. But maybe you have a way to check if the pc is really safe now without any malwares / viruses on it (maybe not all of them were removed), so I won't have to do the clean insal because I'm afraid there are still hidden malwares that can steal assowrds etc.. Is there a real way to check if the pc is completetly clean?

If you have buttons for Email, Internet, Bluetooth, etc. then you can download LaunchManager from Acer the rest you don't need. All your other drivers can be found at
http://us.acer.com/ac/en/US/content/drivers

Thanks Jerry, yes, I have the COA sticker.
But before I do a clean install : the reason I want to do it is because I am afraid there are some malwares that maybe MBAM and the antivirus did not find. ( I did a full scan with both ).
I remember I had the same problem with a different computer, and before I did the clean install, I remember I was told here to download some programs and post some logs from these programs and they could tell me whether I have malwares or not.. maybe it will work here as well? ( I can't remember exactly what it was ).
Or, if MBAM first detected 20 malwares, I should perform a clean reinstall just to make sure there are no hidden malwares that cannot be seen by it? (Or there is no such thing as hidden malwares and I'm just paranoid, and if MBAM finds nothing anymore, there is really nothing to worry about?)
