    SUA Problem

I've finally migrated from Vista Ultimate SP2 a few days ago.

One of the major reasons I upgraded the OS from Vista Home Premium a month after purchase of this machine several years ago was SUA. I have several programmes that ran fine under Vista that now don't work at all under win7. They all core dump.

BTW, I've modified system environmental variables for SUA for win7, but the problem persists.

IIRC, I had a few developer tools (gcc, bison ....) I downloaded from suacommunity.com. Sadly, that site doesn't seem to exist any longer. I believe I may need to recompile those broken programmes in this new environment,

Any idea if those developer tools are available anywhere?

It's an acronym for Subsystem for Unix Applications. Available on Enterprise and Ultimate versions of Vista/Win7 only.

Technically, it isn't an acronym unless it spells a word.

Actually, I've found the developer tools and installed them.

During installation of SUA, options are available as what portions of SUA are to be installed. During the rush to get it done, I simply forgot to mark them for installation therefore I just installed the default portions of SUA. Last time I did this under Vista was 3-4 years ago.

For those interested, here's a comprehensive description of Subsystem for Unix Applications:
    Subsystem for UNIX-based Applications

Disregard the Windows Server 2012 site heading. SUA is the same Microsoft product in either Win7 Enterprise or Ultimate versions.
