Problems installing windows seven with usb
Hi I am having a major problem with my netbook. Basically it fell off a table a few weeks ago and that resulted in the hard drive getting broke so I was researching on how I could still use the netbook somehow via usb boot. I had a linux live disc lying around and 1st of all installed linux to a 16gb flash drrive. Then I used the gparted program and formatted an 8gb hp flash drive to ntsf, flagged as boot and mounted the windows 7 iso.
Thought things were going great when I rebooted and removed the ubuntu flash, the windows files started loading but when it got to the point of installing the flash containing the windows files was there but there was a warning saying windows cannot be installed via usb basically? Can anyone shed some light please?
I dont want to buy a new hard drive as im planning on buying a new netbook in a month or so anyway. I mostly use my netbook for downloading and watching movies at the weekends having a few drinks with the girlfriend and have missed it of late. I cant watch movies on ubuntu. The screen just stops and starts and is way out of sync. Any help would be great.
Thanks
