One of the things about WGA is that it checks which partition the OS is installed to - and if that changes it can trigger a non-genuine notification, requiring re-activation.
It may be what happened here, especially if other hardware/driver changes also occurred.

Windows has been activated. I don't know whether it needed to be re-activated after the partition / boot changes or not, as I have set to automatically activate.
