Windows 7: Windows 7Home Premium and Vista Professiona

I have a desktop running Vista Home Premium and a laptop running Vista Professional. I have no need of the features of the professional version and therefore want to purchase the family pack of Windows 7 Home Premium. My question is can I do a clean install on my laptop over the Vista Professional version? I do not want to purchase the family pack and then find that when I try to install on the laptop it says I have the wrong version. Any advice gratefully received.

Yes, you can clean install Windows 7 Home Premium after using Vista Business, but you can't upgrade.
