The Registry is incomplete - how to configure

CD/DVD device not working on desktop computer model Gateway GT5622, Win 7 32-bit. Device Manager reports Windows can not start the device because the configuration information (in the registry ) is incomplete (Code 19). The driver is up-to-date. What should I do to fix the registry?

If you have a Restore Point from before the problem, that should do it. One of the most important things a restore point does is roll back the Registry.
